Intuitive art/Visionary Art is a process of connecting to the inner creativity which flows from an inner-sensory-experiential place. Created naturally and fleetingly, it is difficult to capture or express in words the full essence of this experience as it is unique for each and is self-generated. This approach encourages our inner artist to be felt and seen whilst witnessing the habitual patterns of thoughts, emotions and behaviours. This approach invites us to access the childlike place, where we once drew and experienced the world naturally. To re-member, embody and express our felt sense and full connection with Life. This space encourages us to witness, be with and move through our experience while noticing our judgement when they arise. This is a process of Mindfulness in action.
Intuitive art workshops use the small-group format. Participants attend a day or week end retreats as well as occasionally online classes which lasts a few weeks and at times, a few months. The artist-facilitator’s role is to build a safe holding space for everyone as each creates an inner dialogue and reflection through paint. This is a potent platform to reconnect with the innate imagination. This modality of self-expression can be cathartic and healing as it encourages participants to revitalize their capacity for confidence and wisdom.
In intuitive art workshops, participants are encouraged to:
Listen to their inner voices, music, breathing, to their inner body rhythm, and colors;
Hold a non-verbal witnessing and dialogue with unconscious levels, and create from that place;
To access the childlike, joyful place that enlivens imagination;
Compassionately witness the inner critic while not letting it be in the drivers seat; self-criticism.
Express with courage, authenticity and to learn from each artwork.
Anni offers workshops in her studio, in the customer’s home or workplace. The atmosphere is relaxed, with soft background music. Anni does not provide theoretical background on artists yet supports participants via various techniques when needed. The primary intention is on holding space for and witnessing participants. This process thus invites the sweet and at times cathartic expression of emotions, visions, life processes and experiences on canvas.
